As we navigate the world of real estate, two questions often pop up for both buyers and sellers: “What’s the market like right now?” and “When should I make a move?”
When it comes to that second question, I always say, “The right time to buy or sell is when it feels right for you.” It’s a common misconception that there’s a perfect time to move in real estate. The truth is that the best decision hinges on your personal needs and readiness.
As we approach the end of the year, many think the market will slow down, making it less favourable to buy or sell. From my experience, this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, we often see a surge in transactions during these last few months, creating fantastic opportunities for both buyers and sellers.
For buyers, this period means greater choices and selection, while sellers may face a competitive landscape that can work in their favour. It’s an ideal time to review and reevaluate your circumstances and consider your evolving needs in light of the new year ahead. Factors such as children graduating, job shifts, and lifestyle changes can significantly alter household dynamics and criteria.
In 2023 alone, over 50,000 people made the exciting move from New South Wales to Queensland, along with nearly 28,000 relocating from Victoria (*Australian Bureau of Statistics figures). The allure of more affordable housing, job openings, and the flexibility of remote work are just a few reasons behind these relocations.
No matter the reasons driving these moves, ample opportunities remain in the market even as the year wraps up. I’d love to chat if your household situation has shifted and you’re contemplating your options for the coming year. I’m confident that together, we can explore the fantastic possibilities the market offers before the close of 2024. Boxing Day has the highest views and traffic on the real estate portals than any other day during the year.
New homes to market this month include 6 Ormond Street, Ascot, and 21 Central Avenue, Sherwood..
